Early Years Visual Resources Kit in a Bag
The majority of children are visual and kinaesthetic learners yet we use our voices far too much. This set provides a broad range of symbols to use every day to help children’s understanding of instructions, choice, sequence and order, emotions and behaviour. The set has been chosen to support those aged 2-5 years.
Young children will learn by seeing and doing. We all encourage children to tell us what they see and copy language.
These resources do this and more. There are a set of cards that help children to learn appropriate actions to support positive behaviour such as ‘touch gently’ ‘hands down’ ‘quiet’. Use the cards in a game by holding up a card and say ‘show me show me’ whatever action is on the card. Once the child is used to the action the cards can be used as flash cards to remind the children of appropriate behaviour.
Also included is the Reflect and Draw Expression Kit in a Tin. This includes a set of simple facial expression cards that can be used in social stories, to support understanding and empathy. There is a plastic safety mirror in the tin for children to draw and practice facial expressions. The mirror acts as a dry wipe board to draw or write onto and the kit comes with a dry wipe pen.
Also included are a range of easy to use communication fans. These have been selected to support children in Early Years Settings and include fans on Instructions, Activities and Choices, Bathtime and Toilet Routines and more.
The kit comes in a strong cotton storage bag to keep everything neat and tidy.
