Eco-anxiety is a term used to describe negative emotions that arise from ecological change and is shown to be prevalent amongst young people. These cards contains hints and tips of what young people can do to take control and feel personally empowered rather than hopeless.

This anxiety isn’t necessarily harmful as it alerts young people to the need to deal with the problem, but they frequently feel disempowered as they don’t know how they can help.

This set of forty-eight cards is divided into eight main areas of concern:

Water

Rubbish

Food

Energy

Animals

Recycling

Ecology

Transport.

Acknowledging anxiety is a main part of helping; discussion on the issues and suggesting ways in which everyone, from youngster to adults, can personally play their part, are both vital.

Full Teacher’s Notes for Guidance are included in the pack with practical suggestions for involvement at individual, class and school levels.
