A creative approach to addressing social and emotional difficulties in schools.

By Sue Jennings

Teenagers with attachment difficulties can become stuck in repetitive behaviour patterns that affect all aspects of their lives, especially within the school system.

If early warning signals of attachment-based issues are recognised, then therapists and teachers can prevent or reduce more serious behavioural and emotional struggles. Teenagers need support to understand their behaviour, especially the contribution from neuroscience, in order to be helped to change and realise their potential. This resource provides a map for teachers and therapists to both understand and intervene with individuals and groups. It provides basic theory and practice together with activities, worksheets and appraisals.
